Extension of the Airborne Museum
The President of the Airborne Museum, Mr. Jean d'Aigneaux, wants to build a 1,800 m2 extension to an existing museum to exhibit to the public some unique items, not currently revealed to visitors because of space, and complete exposure the acquisition of large components such as tanks, reconnaissance aircraft, tactical vehicles, ...
This mission was entrusted to Mr. Patrick Bunel, Project Manager.
The Airborne Museum is located in the immediate vicinity of the famous square in the town of Sainte-Mere-Eglise, the scene of major historical events of the last world war. The museum's first buildings were built in the 60s and allowed through the contacts between different groups of veterans to retain a genuine link between the population of Sainte-Mere-Eglise and its liberators.
The Airborne Museum is now the first museum of La Manche in terms of attendance (about 180 000 admissions / year). Faced with the need to conserve memory, the board decided to expand exhibition space by supplementing a new museum.
